Does anyone happen to know the pin out coming from the mlx8/2 db9 to the rj45 that plugs into the chl card? And the dip switch settings for switch 1 & 2 using only one box and 4800 baud rate? mpd is a 128 7.23R

Thanks for your help.

Looking in my old manual, here is what I found. On the DB9 end, strap 1 and 7, pin 2 goes to pin 5(RCV)of the RJ45 (remembering that Telrad counts the pins on an RJ45 backwards) and pin 5 goes to pin 4(SG)on the RJ45 plug. Thats all that is needed for the caller ID.

Thank you for looking that up. When you say that Telrad counts the pins backwards do that mean looking at the female rj45 on the co card that # one pin starts from the bottom?

With the clip upwards and the cable end towards you, pin 1 - 8 would be from left to right. On the COL card, NO.1 would be on the top.

Got it working. Thank you!!! One more question, this is a 7.23 mpd 128. Is is possible to show both name and number when call's come in. Or toggle name and number by using a feature code.

Alot of varibles here. If carrier sends name and number, name will be shown first (on the first line of a display phone) If number is sent first then number will be shown. You have an option in general parameters to show caller ID name. Something to play with. I have seen PRI caller ID show up on the Avanti phones. While call is ringing in, use the <lo-hi> button to toggle between name and number. This is only on the latest versions? You are limited with analog trunks for caller ID, I belive it is name or number, but not both!
