No it isn't, not even close. Please refer to the following wiring patterns for clarification. Network cables (Ethernet) have NO RJ designation whatsoever and never have had one.

As you will see by these wiring diagrams, it is not possible to support a T1/E1 or PRI using an RJ45 wiring pattern. I urge you to use the proper RJ48X wiring pattern to save yourself some time.

Ethernet cables, jacks and patch panels might be similar in appearance, but they have absolutely nothing to do with telco network services.

Ed, the reference to the rj45 is to the plugs on the cable the wiring digram you show is for a rj 45s. we dont use the suffix's here a rj45 is a network cable the rj 11 is a telephone cable we keep it simple here, the cable tipe is called after the plug that is on it not the wiring. see link. RJ 45

The pri uses a standard network cable, sorry about the mix up if you came over here and ask for a rj48 cable you would just get a blank look :shrug:

Well, finally my pri card works correctly.
As you said, KEN, it was a problem of wiring.
I used a four-pairs cable and all of the 8 wires were connected into the RJ45 connector. And then I selected the 4 wires which are on the pins 1, 2, 4, 5 to connect respectively to my pri line modem (1 to R+, 2 to R-, 4 to E-, 5 to E+).
Top light green - sync light green - down light green.
I can automatically receive and make calls. Successfull !!!!!

Ed, Lightninghorse, rj45 = all 4 pairs terminated in true integrated technology style. one cable works for all applications. have a box in the back and pick a colour ( English spelling sorry) :rofl: and it works. rj 45,48,xyz :confused: have to get my glasses on to see if it is the right one. :shrug:

Hmmm. Based on the results,I'd say he wired 1 & 2 to 4 & 5 and 4 & 5 to 1 & 2 respectively. IT cables over here are straight thru, 1-1 2-2 3-3 all the way to 8-8. But we have to use straight thru with some Smart Jack wanna-be's from some of the CLECs. And sometimes from DSL modems to switches, routers, and NIC cards. 'RJ45' has an analogy. It's called 'RS232'. Both of them seem to mean whatever whomever wants them to mean. RJ45 = 8P8C. RS232 = 25 pin 'D' connector! That, in my experience, is about all you can count on! Leprechauns!
