Ok so I was using a Nortel Flash VM (2port) at a location I am at. One of the ports stopped functioning correctly. I ordered a new Nortel Flash VM system. This one appears to have 4 ports tho. The problem I seems to be having is that in the original 2 port VM I was able to edit the Auto Attendant options. However with the new one It gives me "not allowed" when I hit the AA button. Anyone have any ideas why??? If I should be more clear let me know. Thank you

Is that a Flash Lite you have?

I have a Startalk Flash. It doesn't say anything about light. I noticed that the "light" version doesn't even have an AA. But the AA is picking up so it appears to be on this one. I just get the default "thank you for calling..." etc.

So if it's "Not Allowed" when you hit "AA", how did you manage to program it when you installed this new unit?

BTW, you mean "Channels" not "Ports". If the one you have is a "4 Channel/2 Ports", then there must be an expansion card in it with the "4" clearly visable on it inside the cover.

If not, it's either a "1 Port/2 Channel" or a "Lite".

I didn't program it. It's the default from what I can tell...

Oh and I do have that card as well.

If it was "New", then there is no default. As well, you would have had to initialize it and program it. Otherwise it's just an expensive box on the wall.

My money says it was a "New" (meaning "Used") eBay special.

It was not new. Sorry if I speculated that. It is refurbished. But I don't see how it would be on there either way. I reset all features to default and I am still getting that AA greeting. (does a reset not cover a mailbox or AA reset as well?)

Then it's a Lite Version, not Flash 2 or 4.

How other then that could I tell if it is a lite version?

(and the serial tag says "4ch h/w") Guessing that's a 4channel then if that helps any.
