Isn't the 6706 a 6 line set with no light indicators on the top buttons, It's been a long time and I didn't care for the 67xx phones at all so i tried not to install many.

As a side note,make sure when you get your phones that they have been refurnished right. That means they went through and re-built the button pad as they were known for flaking. Once you install them program all the automatic features you can, that will extend the life of your sets. (Ringing Line Pref, Idle Line Pref, speed dials DSS/BLF buttons and so on.
