Anybody know of the reason for erratic analog ring signals. Power supply or motherboard? Get from roughly 0.1 second ring to 0.5 second ringing, not enough to drive an analog device. (I need to order some new psu's anyway, but have no idea if that would even help this one.)

Module repair is not something that we get into here. It has a problem, replace it. I have enough to worry about.

It is but we are telephone guys not electronic techs. Our job is to get the customer back up and running as quickly as possible by replacing assemblies, not repairing them.

What analog device are you using? This might help..... Change distinctive ring to unassigned for the EXT. Instead of two short rings, (intercom) it will be one longer short ring. Not much else you can do as the Partner never did put out descent ring voltage for analog...

You mention that you're trying to drive "an analog device" as opposed to a phone. I'm wondering if you're having trouble with a bell or other type of extra alert.

The ring voltage and freqency are non-standard for Partner extension ports, which means that "ordinary" bells and chimes won't behave as you would expect. The good news is that there are specific products that will work on Partner extension ports. What is it that you're trying to do?

You know, after 29 years in this business I thought I was a "telephone guy" or as we call ourselves around here, a "telephone tech." I guess that is what comes from being in a small market. We were taught that many times it is faster and more cost efficient to replace defective parts rather than just "black box" the item.

The analog device is a simple cheapie AT&T answering machine of the Wal-Mart variety. The customer is as cheap as the answering machine, so I've had to replace the module to get it up and running again. Just thought that if someone else has had similar problems and resolved them with a simple part swap-out (like a PSU) I might be able to save my boss and my customer a bit of green and provide a better service to the community.

Thanks for the input, guys.
