Hi Guys -

I am setting up a telephone system for our church. We had a Legend system donated to the church, two in fact. Both were two carrier systems.

I am familiar with the legend and magix systems so programming those are easy, I have spm 9.0 on my laptop and can connect to the system and program.

However, I have never used the in-carried MLM voice mail. All the systems I have worked on in the past, and I am only an amateur, have been with external Intuity boxes.

I am hoping that someone could walk me through resetting this voice mail system, and maybe any passwords I might need to reset it.

I am trying to connect to it through the db9 connector and hyperterm but have not had any luck getting it to respond.

Thanks again, the church and I appreciate it.

Jim

The Serial Port on that unit is useless for programming.

It has to be programmed by Dialing Into it and using TOUCH TONES to make things happen.

Go to Avaya.com and look up info for the MERLIN MAIL RELEASE 3.0.

The MLM-007 is just a Module Mounted Mer Mail R3, more or less.

Thanks for the response MM but I am still at a loss.

I can't seem to get the system to connect.

If I dial one of its ports 140 - 143 it answers with "Transfering call, please wait" then comes back with "invalid extension"

I can use a modem and dial into port 146 and I can get the menu, it asks for a system password which don't have.

I need some help with getting this system reset or defaulted back to factory or something. Like I said I am more used to Intuity. This has me baffled.

Thanks

I just reprogrammed the legend switch and managed to get a login prompt for the MLM system.

I dialed the administrator mailbox (default) and was prompted for a password. I don't know this password.

Can this be reset? can someone help me do this?

Like I said this is for a church and we are trying to get this setup without having to spend a great deal of money.

Thanks

Thanks all -

Thanks to Mike Daniels I was able to get into the voice mail using the info he sent me.

Now I can finish the system and get it all installed.

Thanks again

I have just done the basic install of a legend voicemail and it looks like I can remote into it but I can't find the software. I think I can Touch tone program but I really want to do remote maint. on it for setting up menu's etc.

I know the Partners pretty good but Legends weren't really sold up here in the Great White North. I'm trying to avoid looking too stupid in front of the customer and any help would be great.

Thanks

There is really no remote programming on the Legend 007 MLM. It is more maintenance and initialization programming. Once you have initialized the system, all the admin programming is done through the phone.

Thanks for the info. I guess the remote software is for the Merlin Magic system.

It sounds like the setup is basically the same as partner VM. I've got Legend VM info ( I think!)
