We have 2 groups setup, 772 and 773 that callers press when calling into the auto attendant. Dialing 2 is 772 and 3 is 773. There are 4 members in each and it does circulate thru the group. Can it go to a mailbox after so many rings? The VM is a R.5 VMS. Are there any options for how the call circulates? Linear, last idle? The docs say that after it rings the members it will ring station 10. Does that mean forever until someone picks up?

Typically it's default will do the zero time out transfer after four rings if it is not picked up.

There are no "hunt group" options, all group extensions ring then go to 10 and after the number of cover rings programmed will go to 10s voice mail.

Thanks Hal. That is what I thought. At least we can end up in a mailbox at the end.

Hal, Is there a VM that does offer a group mailbox? I could swear that I hear that option on a VM but, I can't remember which one.

You can have a calling group mailbox with the Partner Messaging. For a hunt group I'm not sure other than with the old Partner Mail R3 as Skip said.

It would be nice to know what messaging he is using? The station hunt group on partner in my book dosen't work. You can tell them to call a calling group like 72 and assign the stations to the group with a 2ero time out option to a specific mailbox or admin mailbox and I think there is another transfer to a group option with coverage to my personal operator. Things to paly around with and even use the forward feature.
If it is Partner messaging you can experiment with some options. Remember we have 99 sub menus and in practice 99 announcements or Centrex transfers.
The partner messaging is basically the same mail as a Merlin Magic in concept.
Please press 99 to hear our latest sub menu announcement or Centrex transfer or direct station transfer or disconnect and back to selector code 4 for our transfer to Kansas. Please don't forget to dial the first four letters of the party's last name. For our company directory dial * 2. If this is not a priority message please do not make it priority because I have may out calling turned on. and may not what to listen to your message.
In reality the less complicated it is for the caller the better off you are. Each type of business needs to evaluate it's needs and the expectations and limitations of an voice mail
