Correct. And in more words to help get rid of the mud... They are called "channels" on vmails, not "ports" which are on the KSU. 1 Channel on vmail uses one channel on KSU. 1 KSU port has an A and B channel.
People mistakenly call it a "4 port" mail but most of us know that they mean. JTELL posted 4 dots (....) which means 4 channels. 4 A's means Available, you can activate them with a key code. Stars mean you need hardware upgrade, an MS-PEC card installed to allow for 8 more channels then you can key code those too.
"but if you have 4 cords coming into it, that would be an 8 port." So the correct term is 8 Channel
