Hello all,
I am trying to program and use a call record button for a customer that has a 7100 with VM. I have the button programmed as a CR and the extender is 3501 (linked to a mailbox 3501). 3501 is a VirtSLI that isn't currently in use. When i am in a conversation and press the CR button it beeps but doesn't do anything else. Obviously i am missing something but since this is the first time a customer has asked for a CR button i have no idea what the extender should be. I know it is probably something simple. And COS is set to allow VM REC. When that wasn't allowed i would get Limited Class when i pressed the button which went away after allowing VM REC. Thanks for your help on this.

I figured it out. First you have to turn on VM REC in the COS for the phone(s) to allow for recording. Then you have to assign/build mailbox(es) for everyone who is going to be allowed to record the conversation. In my case i used 3501 which is a VirtSLI that isn't being used. You also have to go into 5.9.1 Features-> Voicemail->SVMI Create Subscribers and make sure that the mailbox you are trying to use has either Mailbox or Both selected. Next Assign a button as CR and the extender is the mailbox you are using to record the calls to. So the button looks like "CR 3501". After that you are finished and you can record conversations by pressing the button assigned as CR. The softkeys will show CANCL Pause STOP. You can also stop the recording process by pressing the CR button again.

See I knew it was something simple that I was missing.
