I think that 255.255.255.255 subnet is by design. I believe it has to do with security as the last octet indicates a connection between two IPs, not an entire subnet. I don't think that's the issue, though you should be able to change that in the host router's DHCP configuration.

I'm with Majestic in thinking it's a routing issue, though RBF certainly has a valid point as the appropriate protocol traffic needs to be allowed. Can you ping from your VPN Client to another phone on the system? If not, what results do you get if you issue a pathping command?

When you say you can intercom, I'm not sure what that means in your scenario.

I can ping the phone system thats on the network through the bcm I can call another extension on the phone system but there is no voice either way. There is no other ip phones on the system so I cant ping them but I can ping the phone system or any computer on that network. Just can figure out y there is no voice traffic either way

Maybe the phone system has a different default gateway? The fact you can ping the system is a good sign but what's happening to RTP. I would put wireshark on your PC and see if a capture can tell you what's happening. I'd also imagine that log files on the PBX could tell you something since the SIP messages appear to be making it through but RTP is broken somehow.

Since you are using VPN then It might be a port forwarding issue at the "home" end. I've use VoIP over VPN (DD-WRT)to my home VoIP PBX with success on many hotspots when all other methods fail. If you weren't running VPN then I would say it might be a STUN server, or lack of , issue.

Thanks Leejor for the reply but the problem is solved with another router that is not running 3rd party firmware. I purchased a linksys RV042 and it works great
