We have a couple of Fluke LinkRunners (handheld cable testers) for our PC techs to run a around with. One of them broke and the repair cost was the as high as just buying another one, about $350.
Are there better alternatives? Are there software packages that can be used in a laptop? Our techs carry those anyway.
Need to be able to do basic cable testing and get an IP address from a remote device.
