Greetings,
It has been quite a while, we have an OS 7400 release 4.99 Svmi 20i we can't connect to through DM, nor can it be pinged on the network it can be accessed via DTMF, and it is answering. It is set to Private in the MMC the IP address is there the Lan LED is orange the data switch it is connected to is set for auto negotiate. The Svmi has been rebooted (building power outage) the patch cord has been swapped. Their I.T. team is looking into it and so far, doesn't see any issue. They say in the data switch the settings are the same as the MP 40 which we have no problem connecting to via DM yet when we try to access VMAA we get the can't access check the link message. I suggested they set up a laptop with the same I.P. address as the Svmi unplug the Lan connection from the Svmi plug it into the laptop and try to ping the laptop. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you for all you do, John B 807

What is the subnet mask set to? Maybe try setting a laptop to an IP that is off by 1 and see if you can ping it directly.

I.P. Address is 10.10.120.28 Subnet Mask 255.255.248.0 Gateway 10.10.120.1
They can ping the MP 40 10.10.120. 25 and the OAS cards on .26 and .27 In the back of my mind I keep thinking about the Svmi having a 1gig connection (Orange)? I don't know why?
Thanks, John

Check the alarm history for network errors on that card. Chances are there is some sort of monitoring on the network or something trying to conflict with the ip address of the SVMi. For me, resetting the card in the system reset/ preset page of the DM wakes it back up. (make sure there is nothing accessing the vm in the connection status page before you hit reset though)
You may want to monitor it or look back through the alarm history to see if the network error is happening regularly.
Another thing you can do is set the email address and smtp info tor getting alarm notifications.
Good luck!
