I need to connect an emergency broadcast input to the MC2K system which has a MCAPI card cage with BL-S & MM-S plugin cards. (System Versions: MCDS2 04.20 MC2000 04.30) I've read that an upgrade to the MCAPI2 card cage is necessary to have the ability to give priority to the emergency signal and override other inputs. Are there any traps replacing the MCAPI with a MCAPI2? Will the current BL-S & MM-S plugin cards work in the MCAPI2? Any better suggestions?

Have you contacted Bogen tech support?

Hal, We tried initially. We were referred to an authorized Engineered Systems authorized dealer. District administration tried to get the dealer on site but after several phone calls with no estimates decided to find an alternate solution. Since the system is only being used as a glorified PA, there has been talk of abandoning the Multicom and replacing it with a Bogen GS150. Trying to give the MACPI2 a try before investing in the new amp and labor of re-terminating all the speaker/phone lines.
tim10, Thanks for confirming the modules are compatible.

Obtained the MACPI2 and attempted to install. Found the MACPI modules were not a direct plugin to the MACPI2. The MACPI2 modules are slightly narrower and have a smaller socket. It requires an adapter to use the MACPI modules in the MACPI2.
