I thought the database was saved on flash. Is there a battery that holds the memory when power is turned off? If so where is it, can it be replaced?

Hi Craig,
There is a huge lead acid battery under the cover typically. The power switch on the side is actually for the battery backup. Yes, it can be replaced.
