Have a customer with a Stratagy voicebrick (Flash) voicemail that quit taking messages. The Supervisor mailbox says there is 0% free space.
I picked up a used voicebrick but the passwords are changed so that did not work out. I do not have the programming software and cannot seem to find it to download,. I assume it needs an older pc to run (DOS, maybe or at least XP)
I watch the serial port on bootup and get the following:

Not sure which version of the programmer I need but any help would be welcomed. I did have the software at one time but that pc is long gone...

You need to have a read of the Stratagy Tech Bulletin 5016 as this explains how to recover the Stratagy Flash. The Stratagy 3R software will be needed on your PC or the later software is the Stratagy Voicemail Manager v1.11
The method to recover is done using Hyperterminal and the admin cable which you already have by your original post. At the DOS prompt 1) Normal Start-Up or 2) Exit to DOS press option 2 At the D:\ prompt type C: then press ‘Enter’ At the C:\> prompt type dir then press ‘Enter’ At the C:\> prompt, type: cd Stratagy then press ‘Enter’ At the C:\>Stratagy prompt type del stratagy.log then press ‘Enter’ At the C:\>Stratagy prompt, type del CKDB.Log then press ‘Enter’ At the C:\>Stratagy prompt, type cd.. (or Cd\) then press ‘Enter’. At the C:\> prompt, check available disk space once more by typing Dir then pressing ‘Enter’ If the disk space available is more than 100Kb At the C:\> prompt type reset and press ‘Enter’
The Stratagy Flash will re-boot. Check to see if STATUS LED turns GREEN. Once Flash has re-started successfully, disconnect Hyperterminal and connect via Stratagy Admin, check the number of messages by using the ‘Boxlist’ utility from Stratagy Admin, User Option.
Give that a try and get back to us as it could be a mailbox corruption and that can be rectified a different way.

Had to dive back in the memory bank for that one, the tech bulletin was done in 2001 by my mate Jim Daley, good job there are some old timers on here that know the old stuff as well as the modern IP systems

Randy The deletion of the Stratagy.log and CKDB.log file created enough space for the operating system to load up and run. Don't forget that now it is running you will need to find out which mailboxes have lots of messages in them and delete the messages or mailboxes otherwise it will soon fill up again and will crash.

I had a customer once with a DOS based VM Brick (no monitor/keyboard/mouse) that saved EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE and complained that there wasn't a way to go directly to one particular saved message, he even threaten to sue our company.
Yes, it locked up the Voice Mail and there were only 5 user mailboxes.
