My customer had an old Americom system and finally destroyed (those flat gray things) a couple of phones. Nobody should ever have to have these, but he has about 15 of them. So, I decided to upgrade the software to a 20A that accepts both the old Americom and the Impact phones.
I get out Putty to download the database, hoping I could download the old and upload it into the new. Right, Putty doesn't have XMODEM protocol, so I get out my XP machine and run Hypertrm. Xmodem won't download!!! WTF? about an hour later, I discover that you UPLOAD the software to get XMODEM data out of the 1632 to your laptop. LOL I do that, power the system down, swap the cartridge, and, THEN I find out that the data stayed intact!
Geeze, I wish I'd known that before I wasted all that time with the laptops and terminal packages :-)
Anyway, the Impact phones mapped like a charm. Now, if I could find my 8012 desi's.....

Too bad, I tossed all my keys and cartridges years ago. You're living on borrowed time, it was a great system in it's time though. American made, then came Dx_80...
