Ok, we have an IDS228
We wired some new phones and they are not working... so just for grins I plugged in a model 32 phone and it WORKS FINE!!! but when I plug in the model 64 phones, they never boot, they either keep resetting or hang on the splash screen... these are wired via CAT5 cable.... Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I swapped cards and no luck...

Are the phones new to you? If M32 works then M64 should as well - there is no difference in wiring/card/programming/etc. Try plugging in M64 to port that has been in use for some time to verify that the phone is good. Mike

ok, Here is what I know for sure. These are tested known good phones.... I am using them on other extensions and have played many of a musical phone... the phone are 100% known good.
the m32 works 100% of the time, the m64 does not....
the cpu rev is 3 I think... does that sound right? It is a pretty current CPU because we use Caller ID w/text and number

as everyone said, there is no difference in wiring for all Executone phones. take the M64 and move it to other EXT that is working on the original ports and see if that phone will come up. I think you have a bad phone or bad base cords. what is the model number of the station card, try to use 15700 or 15750 even 15640 should work. there were some older station cards that were hot and made the phone go crazy, but I have not seen this in 8 years or so.

You say You are using them on other extensions..?
Maybe( I'm going out on limb here) you are using a Very Old station card?, but, if the 32's work...the 64 should. as far as that software, I believe that was probably the Last software ever produced so, it is most likley compatible, how about if you tell the port it is going to be a M64 Before you plug it in?
Try hooking it up Directly at the phone system, Maybe something is goofy with the cat5? Length?
