I have a customer who inherited a medley and wants it installed only problem is the hard drive is screaming, probably due to a bad bearing in the drive. Any sources for replacement drives for a medley?

You can try to use ghost to copy harddrive.
The Medley is made by ESI, you can try contacting them.
You can try AAble Communications, they do reapaires for Executon equipment.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

The medley uses a standard IDE drive - Best advice to give your customer - use it as a door stop and buy a real phone system....

I think that the Medley is a nice little system. Sure it had some issues with S/L ports in the early versions, but for the features and ease of use, I think it is great for a small business.

Cos, Not a very helpfull post.I haven't ever worked on Medley but I'm sure hard drives are the same in whatever systems use them. They have a life expectancy.Just because a hard drive fails or needs to be replaced doesn't paint the system as a "door stop".

Are you sure its the hard drive and not the fan, the Medley had a fan that would sound like a failing hard drive ? You can unplug the fan temp. and see if thats causing the noise.

I have had some (only a few) HDD failures on a meadly and never had one making noise before it dies, fans on the other hand I ssupect I have replaced more than 20 over the years. The medley is a great little system, I always clip the black wire and repower the cabinet see if the noise is gone. If it is replace the fan. Also not the Medley is slow to come up takes several minutes, sometimes as many as 5. So, don't panic when you see the blank screen for a long time it is comon.

I didn't see a fan inside maybe I missed it. This is one of the metal cabinets, did the have fans? I'll have to go to the site again to see if no one knows for sure.
