I consider upgrading to package #18, but am not sure... #3 was fantastic, but need to hear educated opinions about the other parts. If you get #18 let me please know how it was.

The website doesn't tell me much about what they teach you other then "SIP".

If I were going to recommend a package to someone it would be the one that teaches the following:

- SIP Authentication methods (Realms, Registers, etc)
- SIP NAT Traversal
- RTP Fundamentals and Codec information
- Capturing and Analyzing a SIP Header from the wire (ALWAYS invaluable when things just wont work)
- Network and Router fundamentals for high-rate UDP traffic

Arguably the last two could be optional. Some PBX/switches will try their best to make anything work while others are extremely finicky. The only other thing that you might want to add is learning SIP-TLS and SRTP. It's pretty rare in production right now but there's always that odd case where you run across it.

Thanks Kumba! As you may recall I did take their SIP training and it covers in a great detail the five items you have mentioned, including live call capture analyzed and explained (They have used Ethereal). They explained every RTP header/field just like they did with SIP. They demonstrated a live call goes through NAT, and showed the way the eyebeam phone tackles that. So my question was not about SIP or VoIP, but rather about their 3GPP IMS course and examination/certification...
If you know anything about that I'd appreciate that a lot.
