Hello,
I am looking to add more extensions to my IDS 42 System. I currently have two set up. What would be the wire color coding for the third and fourth extensions? I could figure out that extension 3001 was white/blue & white orange, and the second extension (3002) was white/green & white brown.

As long as both ends of the cross connect are the same it doesn't matter..the colors are just a guide. The standard color code is in decending punch-down order: white-blue, blue, white-orange, orange. The person who connected your other two extensions just used a complete cable instead of a spool of blue/orange cross-connect wire. If after you do this the phones don't "come up" ..check the jacks to make sure they're wired with all four wires. You'll probably need the new phones programmed..unless you get lucky and the previous tech. pre-programmed them like your other phones..with the same model of Executone phones. If you do need them programmed, I can do it remotely on my laptop for $65...your system has a built-in modem for remote programming. Give me a email.

On 25 pair cable:

Extension 3003 white/slate and red/blue pair
Extension 3004 red/orange and red/green pair
extension 3005 red/brown and red/slate

Good Luck!!

If all else fails, use a BFH.
