A quick overview There are a few basics that help your site in search engine ranking / search results.
Having your "keywords" in your domain name, Title, description, H1, h2, h3..etc tags, and content, is important. Your keywords are those words that people would search on to find your services/product.
Also very important is having relevant in-bound TEXT links (that also use your key words).
Typically, websites get "read" by search engine robots/spiders. One way to get your site read is to have links from other sites that are read/indexed by search engines.
Besides the above, your site must be user friendly. If a person finds your site but can't find what they are looking for, they will leave. Also, your need to effectively communicate your marketing message. So, the viewer can quickly determine what you can do for them and how to get it done.

I think the usual keys are phones, phone systems, installer, and what ever you are selling. but on that note I don think that phones, phones, phones, phones is gonna go far for us.
(I saw that in the script on a different site and it was only in the h1 and h2)

Selecting the "right" keywords/phrases is a balance between using a very grneral or popular keyword like "phones" and a very specific keyword phrase like "NEC Vanguard phones".
Using a very popular keyword means your site will compete against more websites than the more specific key phrase. So you want to use key words that are most appropriate for your business and target market.
For example, if your business services a specific geographic area you can use that to focus your keyword phrase... like "southern Texas phone systems" instead of "phone systems".

Tom, Something like: Gainesville Telephone Gainesville Phone Gainesville Network Cabling Ocala Phone Ocala Telephone Ocala Network Cabling etc, etc, etc....
Basically whenever someone searches for telephone (or network cabling) in one of the cities we service.

On any web site. To start with, you need to use your key word and phrases in content kinda like this: At North Florida Telephones we install NEC Elite phone systems in Ocala, Gainesville etc. Also installing Network Cabling in the Gainesville and Ocala areas. For Service on your Network or your NEC Elite Telephone System we are top notch so give us at North Florida Telephone. ect.ect. That's for content with-in the page, along with what vwebworld stated above Titles, descriptions in the meta tags...you'll be headed in the right direction. You should also get links with your key word/keyword phrases everywhere you can, links from sites within your industry will be some of the biggest kicks you'll get along with links from directories for your pr, and if you don't have a google bar, you should get one.
Larry I would also invest in a new logo. I'm sure someone else will see other things.

I order to realize results from the placement of keywords I think your North Florida Communications website needs a little reworking.
There is a fair amount of java and frontpage scripting that slows down the loading of your site and may not even be seen by viewers who turn off java (for security reasons).
I'd be happy to provide a free comprehensive review of your site and offer some suggestions for improvement if you'd like. Let me know, email or PM me.
Another point about SEO... and keywords. It is more effective to use a limited number of targeted keywords on a web page than to try to use ALL of your targeted keywords on one page. So, when you have 5 or ten keywords/phrases focus on one or two on one page... then 1 or two on another..etc.
