I have a new customer that has a ESI IVX 128. They are having trouble with the on hold recall. What I've found is that when you put a caller on hold and the hold recall timer expires, it first rings the station that put it on hold and after a few rings it seems to be trying to ring the call to AA and just rings into nowhere locking up the line indefintely. The customer does not want any of the VM or AA features and I have access to programming but do not know what options to select. One other wierd thing is when the unit does the transfer, it will also light the line 6 button wich is undefined and no line is terminated to port 6. In the line ringing program I did find an ext 192 programmed to ring but there is no extension there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hard to say without knowing how they have it set up. You can start here. Go to CO line options.Look in your Answer Ring Assignments, you can tell it where to go on the 1st,3rd,5th,9th ring.
Do you have a manual? If not I can e-mail you the installers/programming.

I finally bit the bullet and paid the $40 bucks for the Telprogramer manuals site just before you posted, so I have the manual now. I've been waiting for an excuse to spend the money and I'm glad I did. Its well worth the money. I appreciate the offer though.

Just wanted to update and say problem solved. For reasons I have been unable to tell the vendor had the lines ringing to phantom extensions on the 9th ring, I think the system was moved from another location and it used to have an external ringer somehow hooked to another port. Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I've got a new customer and everyone is happy.

I need the installers manual for the IVX 128. Do you still have one that can be emailed? Thanks! <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by dtmf: Hard to say without knowing how they have it set up. You can start here. Just as a note...
On the IVX you always want to make sure there is an end-point to all routing. Never create a loop in programming (i.e., ID 1 No-Response set to ID 1). This will almost always cause lines to get locked up, since the system doesn't always see or look for disconnect. This includes station forwarding. I have found that if you forward an extension to itself, for instance, to prevent an extension from going to voicemail, specifically with analog stations, it will just sit there and not go anywhere when it attempts to forward. In this case, either forward it to ID 9999 (disconnect), or back to ID 1, or to another station, such as zero. Always, always give the system an ending point!

Johny, I have quite a few AA programming needs myself, although our system is the IVX S-class (Soho). Where did you find your installer manual? I am looking for one as well, but the two sources so far have been unable to confirm the contents. Thank You, Howard <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by JOHNYREB: Just wanted to update and say problem solved. Saw your reply below. How can I obtain a similar installers/programming guide or information for IVX-S class?
