Can I get some insight please?

First it’s my understanding that the RTO “0” can be used to extinguish the “night key” LED and will follow station group 0/500 and is the same as RP1 under Trk ringing. Is that correct?
My goal is to have in DAY mode all trunks ring extensions then over flow to the AA
In Night mode go directly to AA. Plus having Extension 201 as the General Msg mbx when zero’d out and return on a no answer.
“Using IT tool” “Incoming”
I Programmed TRK Ringing [All Trunks 701-705] Plan 1 for 500.
I programmed TRK Ringing [All Trunks 701-705] Plan 2 for 519.
The under Group and Table, “Station groups”
0/500 Ring all Extensions then Overflow to 519 16 seconds
19/519 is already set with VM and ports 301 through 306

This is a 7200S MP20S.
When the night key RTO “2” is set the calls go to greeting 1001 ok. But,
When Night key is in RTO “0” day mode lines ring stations as 500 calling and it forwards to the AA it does not go to the main greeting 1001 in stead says prompt that the person you are calling is not available.
With Web Management:
There is no mbx 500 but under extension it has “no Messaging” in EClass.
How to stop the grp 0/500 in overflow to 19/519 from dropping digits?
Do I need to Over flow to a different grp as normal/distribute, using like 5/505 and input the VM exts 301-306?
This doesn’t seem like the correct way to do this……but please whats the secret here gentleman?

Thanks in advance.
Vinny

Vinny, I think you are making this too difficult. 1st you need to set your Ring Plan, Ring Plan 1 should be night (most likely 00:00 - 23:59), Ring Plan 2 should be your day (8:00 - 17:00 or whatever time). Then go into trunk ringing and program the ringing based on your example RP1 = All trunks to 519, RP2 = All trunks to 500. If you want to manually control ring plans and you have 2 buttons available I would program a RP1 and RP2 button otherwise just program a RP button and you can select modes.

Regarding the Voicemail, you need to go into Menu, Forward Station, and set up 500 goto menu day. You should also verify that in Day Menu you have 0 go to ext 201 set up to make sure the caller ends up in the General mailbox if they 0 out.

I have a pet peeve about techs using 500 as the day ring group. I use 501 and leave 500 for operator/recalls.

Thank you Connextions that worked out to be a good and simple way but you burn two keys for RP’s. I also had to go into forward trunk and set 500 to day menu.

So I guess the RP syndrome is to start stacking RP keys for as many different scenario’s a customer wants? :bang:

Noisycow, I get your concept, because after the RP2 overflowed to day menu and I hit zero it rang 201 then went to VM on a N/A hit zero again and it rings 500 thus making a continuous cycle unless one takes out the leave a MSG prompt or caller presses 1.

Inside the mailbox for 201 you can set where callers will go when they hit zero. By default it goes to the 'operator' but you could change that to go back to 201, and break the 'endless loop'.
