1st off Happy New Years, its been a really long time since I posted on here so I hope everyone is doing well.

I know there are a ton of posts about 1-way audio and I understand that it is almost always a router issue particularly if NAT is being used. However I have an odd scenerio ... I have a customer who has a bunch of remote phones. Overall the remote phones work well however I have 2 remote IP phones (seperate locations) that are unable to communicate with each other (1-way audio issues) even though they can speak to other remote IP phones just fine.

This one really has me boggled. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Tom

As you stated, the problem is likely caused by ports being blocked in one of the routers. WRichey had this problem and I believed he traced it back to problems with one of the routers. Hopefully he will see this post and he can elaborate on the problem.

Try setting the option to use MGI on the system for those two extensions. That will force those phones to come back through the system and make the audio channel go through the MGI rather than trying to set up a peer-to-peer connection. This sometimes works for me.

Also upgrading the system side to Samsungs latest software release (this is assuming that you are in a 7000 series system) they have enhanced the NAT sensing capabilities of the system and you no longer have to select the connection type like public with firewall and such.

Also check your IP set firmware there a been quite a few new enhancements there as well.

Good Luck
