Hi. I have a T1 MPLS circuit that is running extreamly slow. AT&T has run a few stress tests on it and says of course no problems. I have taken our server and plugged into fe0/0 on the router. Running a speakeasy speed test, we get .58 download and 1.41MB upload? A T1 should be equal on both dl and ul. The Fe0/0 is set to speed auto/auto. The network card on the server is set to auto/auto. At this point, it is indicating a problem with the router a Cisco 1841 with CSU WIC or the T1. The server is connecting at 100MB. What could cause this as going through the router itself, we ruled out our switch and building wiring.

You are correct,sir! The T1 speed is uniform in both transmitt and recieve directions. If the stress testing indicates that the T1 is functioning properly, I would do as you are doing and move my investigation up from the physical layer to a higher layer. Question. Does this circuit terminate in a area hard hit by storms? If so, is there a chance that rerouting issues are leading to Network congestion and delay?
