I have a Repartee Ver 7.44 on OS2 (ugh). On some mailboxes when a caller is trying to leave a message it stops and goes into "If you would like to add to your message press 1" I have added more time for messages length but it still does it. I thought maybe bad connections (no sound) like from a cell phone but it also does it with internal and land lines. I have looked in my manuals and I can't find a time spec for low/no noise. Is there one for the repartee. Also does anyone have any other ideas what might be the problem? Also not limited to any certain mailbox.

Have you tried removing and re-adding the mailbox? Sounds like you are getting talk off. Be careful if you do this to make sure that there are no transaction boxes associated with that mailbox. Don't worry about the OS2..thats why it runs and runs. I am already having nightmares thinking about using windows as the OS for the new ones.

There is a way to adjust the silence threshold. First, shut down the voicemail program (I don't mean shut down the whole computer) by pressing ESC from the banner screen and signing out of the Repartee program. From the desktop click on os/2 prompt. From the os/2 dos prompt switch the vmail directory. Then type silence 45 and press enter. It might be silent 45 (I don't have the manual in front of me). Restart the voicemail program and run some tests. You can play with the setting until you find the right number, but make sure you run some tests. For example, make sure the voicemail can recognize the touch tones.

Oops. It should be "Quiet 45" not silent or silence like I said in the above post.

I used to think that too but I have just installed a windows 2000 server version of it and it seems to be well done and solid. Will it be as good as os2 warp 4? No idea as of yet but some of the new features are rather cool.
