Just been asked by a client to have a LSA (loud sound alarm) ring when an exsiting digital extension is called on a Topaz system. Eg call ext 205 with a MLT but also ring at 206 which has a SLT lound sounding unit sounds simple but i cannot seem to work out how to do it, the Topaz has similar programming to the IPK II so there maybe answers there. I have thought about using VE but would prefer to keep exsiting extension numbers.
Thanks Scar.

You can try to create separate Group of extensions(Department Group)and make'em ring together if somebody calling in. It is not so simple to have SLT rings when somebody calls MLT. Oposit way is easier. When you calling SLT you can have SIE on MLT for that Ext.

Use an a APR adapter on the MLT phone. Program the APR to simultaneous ring with the MLT.
Vad60: The Topaz is a system made for the Asia/Pacific region and does not use anythng at all like the Elite, IPk or IPK II hardware or software.

Scar,
vad60 has the best aproach. One thing to watch is that using a dept Gp you can not get both stations to ring if the call is transfered from a VRS AA only a DID or DIL calls..
The inability to get a SIE ringing feature on the IPK2 like on the Elite and IPK1 systems is a real pain here..

programming in topaz is kinda similar to ipkII.. like local numbering at 11-01,11-02 and trunk set up at 14-xx but a whole lot different in terms of hardware set-up.. i think you can use "call forward: both ring".. look this up in your feature manual and let me know how it goes..

Thanks for the help everyone, Customer decieded on a cordless instead, the ease of Hybrids. Topaz is a great model, similar programming to IPK II, however completely different hardware platform. Powerful small system however the handsets need a little updating. Cheers Scar.
