I just thought I'd post my excitement for this new Vertical product. It seems very close to an STSe but with VOIP and SIP capabilities. It will be much more flexible than the Excellerator and much easier to sell due to the co line capacity. Does anyone else share in my excitement ?

Yes. I also like the fact that all station ports (except the first one) will support digital or analog phones like Panasonic and Partner systems. I also like the fact that the programming procedure is very similar to the format used by the STS/XTS family so there's less of a learning curve. The pricing looks to be right-on as well.

Where is the information for this, I'm clicking around the websites but haven't found anything with the pricing or features.

It hasn't been formally released yet. It's not an entirely new product, in fact it's been marketed in Europe for about two years, so we know that it works. I signed up for Beta testing and got some good general product description material. I have only been told by my regional sales rep that it will be less expensive than the STSe. From what I understand, it was announced at the last dealer conference, but I missed that one.

Ahhh, gotcha, our office manager fails to keep me up to date on some things, I figured this was one of them. From what I did find it looks pretty slick and looks to be a little easier to get people to look at versus the Exellerator. Can't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for the info.

I do not like the fact that it is limited to co line and station expansion in comparison to STSe,
and XTSc.

It leaves a area uncovered after 24 stations and 8 to 12 trunks.

I still need good TDM system, which the STSe fits.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about capabilities of the SBX.

It is great that it will have IP capabilities, but I do not like that it can only have 4 IP licenses for SIP lines, IP Telephones, or for networking. Perhaps they will come out with a larger IP card capacity, something that can go up to 8-12 would be far more useful in the long run....but anything is better than nothing I suppose.

Has anyone seen the phones? I am guessing that they are the LG LDK telephones from the description in the email.

The phones are identical in appearance to the current IP phones used with the Telenium and XTS systems, although they are much less expensive. They are also not IP phones, but the new 4000 series digital sets. The nice thing about this is that both local and remote sets will appear and function the same way. I like that.

Here is a picture of the 24 button set. Note that the 4000 series phones won't have a backlit display:

Yeah, those are indeed the same as the LDP-7008D and LDP-7024D digital phones - those are the ones they market for LG-Nortel switches...since something like 2004. Great looking phones IMO.
