Anyone ever have a single digital ext. on an XTS just randomly make an all call. it's at 2.10 and I think we've ruled out Interference.

Too little information, but it's possible that a page button was programmed and off hook preference was turned on for that button. Or the page key is stuck making intermittent contact. Swap with another phone and see if it reoccurs.

Try switching the line cord to a 2 pin line cord. I've seen where intereference can come on the second pair of the cable if it is connected to the jack and the line cord is a 4 pin cord. Just a suggestion.

Excellent suggestions, guys. When I first saw the post, I wasn't paying attention and thought that it was coming from an unknown extension. Now that I have looked back, if it's coming from a single extension, the offending extension will show up on the displays when the page occurs. I'd also try swapping phones at that extension just to see if the problem follows the phone itself or the station port.

Kay lemme give ya some details here. It's one extention 1109 if you please. The first thing we did was replace the line cord with a 2 conductor. No effect. We then moved to ext. to another room and it followed the ext not the cableing or phone. We replaced the ext with a new one on a different port, card, and even changed the pair that fed it. the phone isn't in use when it happens it just puts out an all call. After we changed ports it stopped for about a month but started reoccuring a week ago.

Absolutely. Around here, one of the local area codes is 703. We have found several instances where people were dialing this without being on an outside line. Normally not a big deal until we have multiple paging zones.

Is North Dakota (area code 701) close enough to this site where 10-digit local calling up to there is permitted? The code for dialing internal paging zone 1 is also 701. Since all stations default to paging zone 1, could I be onto something? I'll bet that you have a problem with a user, not the phone or system. They are dialing a call to area code 701 without selecting an oustide line first.

This was a huge problem for us with older software versions where the code for all-call was "70". This happened all the time with people doing the same thing when dialing numbers beginning with area code 703.

If they deny having done this, try putting all stations in paging zone 3. I am sure that area code 703 isn't a local call and requires a "1" first. If the problem goes away, you know where the problem was.

Well we do have a proceeding digit on the system so 1 is included in all codes but we'll try that....
The only issue is it seems to happen when the phone isn't in use...
That could be bad information but still I think we're getting somewhere. Other than a mis dial and without any evidence for interference What else could it possibly be.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll let you know what happens.
