Dear all,

I rebooted our Samsung 7200 yesterday evening from ODSM(I selected Reset and not Memory Clear), but it never came back online. So, helpfully, all our deskphones are dead.

When I looked at the pbx, the MC led is flashing red in unison with the Run led flashing green. I could not ping it on it's IP 192.168.10.70 but, after some digging on this forum, was able to ping it on 165.213.176.10(looks like it's reset to default?). I used the Installation Tool and ODSM tool to try and connect to it without any luck. I get a Winsock 10061 error message, which doesn't sound particualry good.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone more familiar with these systems had any ideas on what I could attempt next? To me, it sounds like the pbx has reset to default and isn't loading the operating software from the media card, which means I'm stuck!

Many thanks in advance!

Rob

Have you tried removing and reseating the sd card? The contacts were a problem at times.Could also be a bad or corrupt SD card. Have you tried to read it to see if the operating files are there?

If the system did default then the phones would be working in the default state. I'm guessing the SD card but try reseating it first

Hi pvj, sorry yes, I should have added that. I have reseated the sd card a couple of times. I will check the contents with a card reader tomorrow(we had to order a reader from Amazon as I didn't have one to hand). What should I expect to see on it in terms of folders/files? If it is corrupt, is there a way to recover it or replace the files?

If the sd card is corrupt, would that stop the system from booting and leave all the deskphones dead?

No PC with a card reader? Read it and see what's there. Yes if the sd card is bad and you reboot then the system will not start

The card says OfficeServ 7200 (EUS) SD (2G). 19356 V4.60b (But I'm sure the os version was newer than that on the actual pbx).

I plugged it in to a card reader I just received and it has a DCIM folder with a 100MEDIA subfolder in it. Empty (I think that might have been created by accident when I plugged the card into a nature camera, which was the only SD card slot I could find(!), to try and read the contents the day after the pbx wouldn't boot)....

Other than that, it has a DATABASE.SME file of 104kb, MDI.log, SYS.DB and USE.DB and that's it. Doesn't seem right to me, but I expect you have a better idea of what should be there!

The MDI.log has this as the final entries(last modified date of 31/1/2024 @ 3am, I rebooted the pbx on 31/1/2024 5.10pm, so that makes sense);

I've had this mean the card has failed in a couple instances, and in one case, it was the card reader on the processor itself.

See if you can back up the files and put them on another card and see if it will boot.
