Working on a small working display of older working phones at home. So far I've got lots of Western sets, some 1A2, and a working MET set from a Dimension. Recently got some TIE EK-820 sets for the display that need a KSU.

Anyone know the whereabouts of a TIE EK-820, EK-1236, or EK-2260 KSU?

No, not totally crazy. Just a little bit. Have lots of spare fuses on hand!

Holy cow! Haven't seen a TIE KSU since the 90's! Have you seen them in the wild?

It's been at least 10 years since I've seen one in the wild, but never worked on one personally.

The 820/1236/2260 used to be very common around here though. One of our grocery chains had a 2260 in each store. Yes, a grocery store used that many CO lines believe it or not. When they replaced the 2260's they put in either NEC NEAX or Nortel Option 11.

I have an old TIE 816/EDKS Programmer here. Its so old it was made in 1982. I remember installing them but thats about all. We used to carry the
programmer around with us and it plugged into one of the cards.

I saw one a few years ago, covered in lots of dust, it may still be there. Next time I'm at that site, I will take a look and let you know.

So I stopped in at the site and got some pictures for you, can't seem to post them, so send me your email address via a PM and will forward them to you. It's an old TIE system, just not sure it's what you want.

Well, so far I’ve gotten close. Kevin, C5Z, knows the whereabouts of a TCX-128 system. I guess you could call it the evolution of the 2260. He’s going to help coordinate that for me and I greatly appreciate it.

I found the power supply for the 2260 but no KSU so far. I’ve also found a TC-12 KSU (as far as I can tell it’s essentially a 1236 but uses 2 pairs?), but no power supply for it. It looks like it may be compatible with the 2260’s power supply but can’t tell for sure. Power specs in the manual aren’t detailed enough for me to tell.

So, still looking for an 820/1236/2260 if anyone runs across one. And in the meantime I look forward to getting the TCX-128 running.

Wholesale Telecom here in St. Louis might have some old TIE stock.
