Hello,

I have a KXTA 824 with a TVA50.

They asked about having the VM answer all calls and by key selection ring any of 3 groups of phones for day or night (via a time service key).

I do not see ring groups in the KXTA software, only extension groups so it appears that this is not a feature like I can do like with a TDA/TDE.

They are not going to replace the KSU for this one feature set.

Does anyone have a coding pattern or trick that would work like this?

OR

Could I have the VM transfer to a separate extension that is just a bell and have them CPG to pull the call to them??

THANKS!

Some people have done loops through free co ports from a spare extension if you had free ones, but it can cause issues with locking co ports.

Extension groups do have ucd option, so if you call one of the phones it jumps around to other phones in the same group. As for all ringing, no ring groups on that system

Yes you could ring a bell and and have a pickup code or button to answer it. Only issue is if two calls come in at the same time the second one will bounce back to the VM or give busy tone

Thanks once again, OBT.

This is my only KXTA client. They made the request and knowing the many TDA/TDE's I've worked, I said no problem. Until I looked at the software.

I'm hoping the ext. ringer-CPG trick will be enough. They are a fairly low traffic place so they may never notices 2 simultaneous call issue.

I'll be back this week and find out were call #2 goes.. Maybe put a MW key in to track if something goes there for retrieval?

Thanks again, man!

Have a good Christmas holiday!!!!

Ralph
