Can a 4EVMC or 4SEVMC be used in place of a 4VML? Went to a site today having intermittent trouble with voicemail not working. Upon arrival the 4 channel LEDs were lit solid. Removed the 4VML and was surprised to see a hard drive. Happened to bring a 4VML with a hard drive from the shop - moved the customer's hard drive to that and it came up Ok. If they have trouble again I suggested we'd build a replacement with a flash card. We're low on 4VMLs, was hoping we could use one of the other cards. Made note of the config and transcribed the menu in case we can't access it again. This one was easy - no set schedule, the same menu 900 all the time with just the directory option.

The later VM cards were somewhat slot-specific in where you could use them, but are almost a near-perfe4ct replacement for the card with the hard-drive. The 4EVMC would probably be a good swap, but I seem to recall the 4SEVMC could only be used in the single highway slot of an ADIX, but any slot of an ECS.

Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Talking to our parts/warehouse guy concurs what you said - the 4SEVMC would be the replacement in an Adix. Unfortunately some of the cards, especially for voicemail - are becoming scarce.
