any suggestions on a good alternative? Not for all the tea in China...but if you're talking Teamviewer have you exhausted their website: https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/documents/

Connectwise Control has a free 3 session account. I have it at home and family member computers for support. I use their paid service in my IT business. https://www.connectwise.com/software/control/freeSplashtop I'm told is another decent alternative, not too pricey. https://www.splashtop.com/

We use the commercial version of Connectwise, but I also use the free version for a couple of PCs. Teamviewer is probably the best of the free versions, but that is probably why they are trying to crack down on heavy users. There is also https://www.remoteutilities.com/buy/free.phpYears ago I tried using http://www.ammyy.com/en/ . I accidentally let a random hacker in (you have to accept an invention). He took control of my mouse and claimed to be IT (he wasn't). I uninstalled and never went back.

I have Teamviewer paf. I just used 14.3.4730 this morning and it worked. I've used Aeroadmin but it's kinda finicky.

I've been having the same problem with Teamviewer. I used it heavily while I was in the hospital for a few weeks to access my computer at home from my laptop. Since I've been home, I have kept doing it, even within the house. They flagged me as a commercial user and offered me an option to explain my usage, but after a week or so, I haven't heard anything from them. I guess it's pay or no play. I might just go ahead and do it since I rely upon it for accessing a whole lot more computers than just mine. Hell, supporting my elderly parents' computers are almost a full time job with their never-ending issues.

Teamviewer flagged me as commercial last week. I haven't looked for alternative yet or may have my customer pay for it.

Teamview is getting piggy. $49 a month??? I have a Raspberry Pi in my hospitality and key accounts sites. For casual, it looks like Aeroadmin, free, or if I have to pay, $56 a year is looking better. https://www.aeroadmin.com/en/buy.html#full-license-comparisonAnother thought, is that we go together as a group and buy a 10 or so user 2 year license for about $40 per user. We'd need someone to administer it, but the company said it would be O.K. if we want to do that. Any takers? Or best, go to the website and download the free version. If you like it, we can talk about it. Carl

I use Chrome Remote Desktop. It's free to use. You can set up unattended connections and have access to multiple clients under the same account like TeamViewer. You can transfer files between your computer and the host. There's an Android and Apple app for it too.

Just a follow up on this subject. I sent them a message to assure them that I was not using it for commercial use, but never received a reply. Fortunately, I have not really needed to use it lately, but I gave it a try today to help my mom out with an issue she was having on her laptop. The 'commercial use' warning still came up, but it said it would give me five minutes. I rushed and got everything done that I needed to do, and once I was done, I realized that it had been nearly 15 minutes. I wonder how much validity there is to their warnings? Maybe they are all talk and no action. I didn't want to push the issue, but for me, I didn't have any issues today. Maybe they're just trying to scare everyone into buying a monthly subscription?
