I know this is twisting the topic. But, we started a project 5 years ago to put 4 schools together. They had dark fibre between all sites. I met with the then IT guy who said "in case of catastrophic failure I want all systems to be able to operate independantly." So we installed a system at each school with a few pots lines and 2 pri's at one school and 2 at the far end and networked all the schools together. 4 digit dialing transferring between schools the whole enchilada. That IT guy leaves, new weenie. "I either want to to go hosted or have a system at the high school and all IP sets at the other locations." I said that's fine the other 3 schhools use wireless access point do you want all that extra traffic on your network? And you might want hard drops for the IP phones which aren't there. He said what extra traffic? My contact 0p knows me well enough to grab me and say let me show you something, we'll be right back.
