I know this is twisting the topic. But, we started a project 5 years ago to put 4 schools together. They had dark fibre between all sites. I met with the then IT guy who said "in case of catastrophic failure I want all systems to be able to operate independantly." So we installed a system at each school with a few pots lines and 2 pri's at one school and 2 at the far end and networked all the schools together. 4 digit dialing transferring between schools the whole enchilada. That IT guy leaves, new weenie. "I either want to to go hosted or have a system at the high school and all IP sets at the other locations." I said that's fine the other 3 schhools use wireless access point do you want all that extra traffic on your network? And you might want hard drops for the IP phones which aren't there.
