After power outage phones display "sync, then no sync", but goes no further; base cabinet clicks every 7-8 seconds. If bad cabinet, can that be replaced and the original CKIB put into new cabinet and original programming retained. Thx

No. The programming is most likely gone. It may just be a bad memory battery.

The clicking is due to failed capacitors in the power supply. The CKIB is just a combination station/line card with a few more inputs. The memory is retained on the motherboard. As stated previously, there's a good chance that the programming is gone.
You MIGHT get lucky by pulling all cards except for the CKIB and disconnect any cables from the system. After that, you might be able to get the system to power up long enough to capture a database download. If that doesn't work, then you'll have to re-program the whole thing, after you get the KSU repaired.

You have to default it....flip dipswitch 8 on the motherboard in the opposite direction and reset, it may come back up...if not the power supply is shot. If it does come back up then the RAM battery is dead and will need to be replaced before you reprogram.

It's a 1/2 AA Lithium battery. You can get them at Batteries Plus or possibly Radio Shack. You can solder it yourself or take it to Batteries Plus and they will usually do it for free.

Soldered to the motherboard on every one I've ever seen... not too hard to change though and you should be able to find a replacement battery at Radio Shack.

You can try to reinitialize but I doubt it will help. You need more than a new battery. I'm putting my money on Ed for this one.

Well, I agree, it may be the old cap problem, but it did die after a power failure, not while in service, so re-initializing isn't going to hurt anything. To replace the battery just wiggle it off and solder a new one on.
