I am having problems accessing an intertel axxess.

I have tried the pin out on 2 connectors that is in the information forums above with no success.
I am using Intertel Axxess 4.3.01.
The unit has the CPU card in the far right slot and an MCVP ( I think. Its been a few days) card in slot 15. it connects to rs232 #2 and also has a ribbon cable at the bottom that connects to the CPU.

I have tried several different cables straight thru and flipped. I have tried every speed from 300 to 38400. 2 different usb to serial cables.

All connecting to RS232 #1 on the CPU card.

No success. Please help.

I would not usually work on this system but my customer does not want to use there old vendor anymore.

The connection speed most likely is 9600. Have you tried any other ports, do you have a OPC card?

I can connect with a 4-pin...and the COM port(I have not run into an issue with Speed).

What messages do you get when you try to connect?

Also, keep in mind that the PC connection interface is not session manager!

I have a CPU 550.2030 in the CPU slot
I have an EVMC 550.5040 in slot 7.
The EVMC (Voicemail Card) is connected to RS232 #2 on the CPU and also by a ribbon cable at the botton.

You need to know what chips are in the cpu but this could be bad if the b/u battery is old and you pull the cpu it will lose memory. If you don't have the proper version software on hand this can cause a real problem.

EVMC didnt come out until 5.270.

To get version number you can attach a monitor and keyboard to the EVMC, then type ? The screen should show something like:
[00190 6-10-1996 16:00:01 Main]Software release 4.0
[00191 6-10-1996 16:00:01 Main]ASAI link status = 1
[00192 6-10-1996 16:00:01 Main]Alarm count = 1/

This version is showing 4.0.

You could also run Hyper Terminal or similar, plug your programming cable into a RS232 port and push the RED reset button. The version should scroll on the screen somewhere. The reset button doesnt drop any live calls just calls on hold.

Or as stated above, turn the system off, pull out the CPU card, and write down the chip numbers.

Has your customer tried to contact the Installing company for the Software? This really is going to be your best bet. Also try looking near the system for maybe a folder that contains some information, sometimes there is a CD in there.

Are we any closer to figuring out which version this is?

To be honest, it almost sounds like a more recent version (I have no idea of how to tell versions without a CD already installed).

Hello I am new here but I have a kind of the same problem. I have a 4.4-01 system that we have been using for 6 to 8 years with out a problem, Well we now have a problem that I hope you can help me out with. Our vmail box is running os2 I think,( I have never used it for anything) and I connect to the system remotely with the axxess 4.4-01 software for years without problem. Now that has stopped and I have not made any changes that I know of to keep me from it. I have tried to connect directly and via modem with no joy, yet I was able to do both up until a few months ago when I needed to access the system to make some changes. The one thing I can tell you now is, when I go to log into the system with axxess it says awaiting login but after a few min it just goes away and befor it would tell me it was connecting the say connected. I can try and give you any info you might need to help me out but Keep in mind I am a coumper IT guy but not so much a Phone guy so plane english if you can. Like ALLN1 said above he changed the AA and how to activate the AA... I have no idea what that means. Thanks for any help you might give in advance.

Hello Brian welcome to the forum and I am going to make 2 suggestions to you

1 Do not high jack a old thread you should start a new thread otherwise the experts may not view it as this problem has been solved.

2 Reboot the system, modem and voice mail
