Thanks, I haven't yet, but that is the first thing I will try.
This phone and system were working fine before I tried to correct a jack problem and blew a fuse!!!
That is the reason I did not try and switch phones as it was the most used phone on the system and it was working fine, the other 8 came back fine, but not this one. What a looser this little job has turned out to be!!!
Thanks for all of your help I will be back up there tomorrow and try the phone swap

Are these Inter=tel phones that sensitive that they just brake when a fuse is blown?
I guess I should start looking for another set to replace the IC phone that does not work.

,,,,,,,,,,,NOTE to self, turn off power when working on hard wire problems on Intel!!

Anything is possible when fuses blow, but the older Inter-Tel GLX phones where very solid.

There isnt much to this sytem as far as programming. That said, you could default the programming. At that point you would just need to reprogram the ringing and set your #38 for offhook answer. This little system can be programmed in about 15 minutes. This might save you a headache. Before you do this, ask them if they use speed dialing because all these numbers will be wiped out of course.

Send me a PM for default procedures if you get to that point when your onsite.

We have the Inter-tel GLX phones and we recently moved a phone to a new desk. When the phone was moved the programming was gone and we now can not get the auto answer to work. I have toggled the box to program, pressed #38 on the phone and lifted the handset and hung up. I do get a confirmation tone; however, when I try to answer the phone by lifting the handset it still does not answer the ringing line. It worked just yesterday before we moved it. Could there be something else I'm missing?

Are you sure the phone rings. It must be programmed to ring for that feature to work. #2 press lines buttons, lift/replace handset.

Thanks for the info. I tried the programming #2 and pressed each line button. And got the confirmation number on it too. But the phone is not ringing.

I have kept at it and have got line 1 ringing and when I answered it did auto answer that line but the others are still not working. Hopefully if I keep working on it it will start also. Thanks so much

Last step is program switch to off.

I have a feeling that #3 is going to be the one that works for you.
I want to take a handset OFF of handsfree intercom. Will #32 do that, or do I need another code?

I don't have my documentation with me at the moment, I rarely work on this system and have forgotten half the codes. I will respond back later today if someone doesn't post.
