A 1224 is a small cabinet. Probably no more than 16" wide. The 2460 is about 30-36" wide. It can run 60 extensions instead of 24. On the 2460 cabinets the two sides are seperated by the CPU card which is in the center.

You can tell its been a while for me. I was thinking 2460 but said 2448.

There is a big difference between the two cabinets. We need to know wich one. Easy way to tell is the 1224 just has a CPU card i believe to the far left and then CO and STA cards to the right. The 2460 has the CPU and EXP cards in the middle of the cabinet and both CO and STA cards to either side.

RCA is right on the money. And if you don't have an expansion card in the 2460, you can't access the other side (of the cabinet. So you can only utilize the half that already has cards in it.

It is a 2460 then. YOu guys are awsome. Now it seems that I messed up my Auto att. Please refer to my other post. At least I know what the problem is. Thanks for all your help.

Well wait I do have a card in the exp slot has a 25 pin serial port. I tries to get into it with telnet no luck.

use hyperterm 4800bd to get in. once your in check the programming as described above.

And if it you get jibberish on your screen when you try to access it, check the jumper on the CPU card. Your options are I believe 300, 1200, 2400, & 4800 baud. Make sure the jumper is set to the same setting as your terminal program speed. Also, if you have any issues try the 25 pin connector on the CPU card. That's the one I usually use.

Why would anyone set that jumper strap to anything slower than 4800 is beyond me. I guess back in the day some of the old printers and comm devices may have not gone as high as 4800. Nowadays, I always see them at 4800.

I can talk to the cpu but there is an exp. card that also has a 25 pin and I could not talk to it when I tried.

Inter-Tel used to sell a 1200 baud modem with the Premier. In fact I think Premier was the brand name on it. That's why the strap is found set to 1200 on some of them. I've also seen them set to 300 baud when people didn't know how to set up the terminal program and that's the only speed they could get to work.

(300 baud is measured in furlongs per fortnight)

As for the expansion card, that's normal. It's easier to connect via the CPU card.
