Ok, I know a lot of people have made comments about this, I set it up today, But......is there anyway, to get it to ' work ' Right away? like, I don't want to wait 1 Second while it decides what it is supposed to do?

I did shorten it from the default of 5 seconds to 1 second. That is the Issue, I can See the customer starting to dial his Outside number 1 second Before he is actually on the Outside line. Is There a way, that when I pick up the handset to get Outside dialtone " Right away " ( Like on just about Any other Phone system )

Set the extension for hot line instead of warm line...then there is no timer.

umm... I was sorta one of the ones mumbling something about that awhile back too, wasn't I? - at least with a generic start up cheat sheet? A few other members have also been dabbling with it too. Actually, a cross reference list using XTS terminology to convert to SBX nomenclature would be awesome! But then, that would only be useful for just the next year or two I suppose.

There is another part to do after you set it to hot line. You have to tell it what you want it to pickup. CO line, CO group, intc, flex key. I always use co group.

Which leads to my complaint with the sbx. You cant change the co group to pick up l1->l2->l3 and so on. How hard is it to give us this option. I've had to put lines in systems in reverse order to trick the thing into doin what I want.

Vodavi was always that way. The reason was to prevent glare.

But it will let me do round robin type of deal, and will let me pick up line 1, then next time line 2, then next time line 3, etc etc. So there's no real reason to not put 1st to last all the time imo. DX has it. Wave has it. Avaya has it. Just annoying because if you send the last line CID out which many people with copper will have, then someone calls that back, and the system is idle line picking off the last line, dun dun dun, busy.

Any Telco worth its salt should be able to spoof any line to show any number on outbound CID. Using first to last trunk group selection just to avoid any number but the main number showing up only works as long as line one is free...think about the law of averages here.

Yes telco can do it but that's not the point and makes ID a pita. And yes if line one is busy then of course it'll hit line 2 on the ilp but if they have say 8 lines then that's 6 more chances for the call to come through when someone hits the callback off their cell...it's ok not bent out of shape about it if the customer uses speed dials heavily or insists on als then i just reverse the lines, just have some customers that cant comprehend why it says line 9 when they pick up line 1 ^_^.

Here is what you do for a workaround. Put line 1 in group 1 and all the rest in line group 2. Then set override first line group option to enable (pgm 161 flex 3 plus 1). That way when you dial 9 you will always go to line one first and the rest of the lines in group two will only be selected if line one is in use.

Or just reverse the order and rename the lines.

Yeah I do reverse the lines and type up the flex button keys accordingly but you can't rename the lines afaik could be wrong though.
