Make sure sw 4 points towards the power supply. To me it looks backwards from the book diagram....Test it and see.

It is in the off position, toward the power supply. I can't figure this out. something has got to be bad wrong.

According to the start up guide (the yellow sheet) switch four should be left in the off position after initiliazation of the system. That is what I do, and on the very few times that I have programmed from a phone, I have not moved switch 4 back to on.

I have a spare unit...time to get it out of the box and play around with it.

I got this system thru ADI. It was an old system with the old software with a real old price. Got it & 8 phones for $700.00. I did the upgrades on PC Admin & KSU. Toni even had me change the admin & ksu software yesterday to the versions she uses on her SBX.

At this point I'm at a loss for what is next. I'm thinking possible bad system. Don't know.

Towards the power supply is correct! All switches should be on except 4. I run an SBX in my shop.

While we're talking about the SBX in general, I lost track of the maximum configurations available with it. I know that when it first came out, it was fixed with a maximum capacity of 12 x 32. Hasn't this changed a bit? I seem to recall that it will now go up to 48 stations, but what about the lines?

The reason I ask is that I have an existing customer seeking a new system, but they already have 11 lines on their current one. I sure don't want to propose the SBX if the capacity is still 12 lines.

It now supports 24x48. It does however, require the new 4000-03 BKSU & 4002-03 EKSU to reach these capacities.

David, I could not stand the SBX when it first came out on the market. I installed one and said never again. The fp 1 software was lacking some very basic features, requirements actually, so it didn't cut it for me. When 3.0 hit the market it operated like a different system. I quit proposing the STS right after I installed my first one, used a template to program it and my customer fell in love with it.

I can't remember if the first one's switch settings were different than now. You know the old Trillium system could not be programmed with out changing a dip switch setting, and you had to change it back or you were asking for trouble if there was a power outage. Oh, it had to be reset or the programming changes would not stick.

The yellow sheet with system was just like you said. After speaking with Toni at tech support she agreed that something was not rite. So she is sending me a new one. We'll see how this works out. Thanks to everyone for their input. I could start to like this system if I can get better with the programming. They are using different terms than I am used to. But maybe I can learn them along the way.

David, There are some stored webinars on V-connect if you are registered. I wouldn't attempt installing one without sitting through one or two of them!
