The 2 wires you mentioned, what sort of termination do they have? Spade lug, TAB, solder, whatever?

um....dunno whats with the teeth pulling reference, but ok.

Oh, and the 2 wires I mentioned, they have....a fork ending. 2 prongs screwed into the spot where the input modual would be going. Also, there are 3 prongs that look like where the input-er would be sitting. Like it would be sitting right on top of them (not sottering to be seen). I would assume that the two fork things could just be screwed into the input-er.

Finally, the two fork endings are separate 3 prongs I mentioned. And the circut is completed by connecting the fork endings to the prongs by way of screws.

I'm sure some of that is unclear, and that i'm using terms that are not right. Let me know what needs clearing up.

So that you're "in" on the joke, it took you SIX posts to tell us that the "diameter" of the hole where the transmitter fit is ~2 3/4". That's not good. LOOK AT THE 2500 SET PICTURE! On the left side, the T-1 transmitter capsule in a "G" handset is about 1 and 3/4 inches and the cavity it fits in measures 1 1/2" The only transmitters I distinctly remember that were that large are the (Hack, spit) AE Type 80 phones where everything was non-standard. The transmitter rests on two spring tabs and those "fork things" are called SPADE LUGS and it's standard in most any handset or phone.

If the whole purpose of your posts is because you want a cheap phone, send me $15 and a gently used 2500 set can show up on your doorstep, complete with a message waiting lamp. If your purpose is to restore this phone, then use the link to Phoneco above and start ordering parts.

Carl

We really do want to help you, but you must make a small effort to help yourself. The easiest way is to try to use the proper words for what you need.

No one, other than you, has used the term "input modual" therefore we are not sure what that is.

I will repeat myself:

The item you seem to need is a TRANSMITTER UNIT.

They are cheap and plentiful in this industry. It will be easy to find one. We have offered to send one, free, and we have offered a commercial source for them. Call this company. (Click here)

Odd. The link works for me. If the link doesn't work for you, try just cutting and pasting it into your browser.

Checking with Radio shack wouldn't hurt.

It's probably just an open cord lead, but I'm done here.
