I have attempted to make a backup copy of the entire hard disk using Ghost. The backup HD will boot to DOS, but when it attempts to launch the VM software it gives a message indicating the VM software is no longer registered. Any helpful hints to get the backup HD to work. Also should we have had the install disk for VM software when we bought the phone system?

If my memory serves me right there is some file that will not copy over using that type of process. I forget what file the is that doesn't get copied. Will look to see if I can find that info but maybe someone else will advise.
Not many systems out there were left on site with the system disks.

you can copy the files accept one. Once the hard drive changes the serial number changes and the software fails. you can contact me and I will fix this for you, this is how I make people happy and fix their problems and maybe make few dollars. Call me when you can. 2033955027. Joe.

Thanks jjmaly.
I was kind of suspicious that this was the case about the drive serial numbers. Our old vendor (they stopped doing service since they wanted to sell/strong arm us into a new Voip system)who was servicing our system thought there was no way to do this. Is it ok to send you a PM to get a quote on your service rates?
Also I would like to discuss the "ACPU Battery issue" as I was told that if it goes bad I lose all my prgramming, of which I have a 2 year old backup of, but more importantly my features, which I was told could not be re-activated since Mitel isn't interested in doing anymore.

I replaced the battery in my 108 and with the strategic placement of a pair of jumper leads, was able to maintain the battery connection while unsoldering the old one and putting the new one in, thus maintaining my programming.

daneboy330,
We're thinking along the same lines. I was considering soldering a spare battery in parallel to the old battery, removing the old battery, and putting the new one in, then removing the spare. It's good to know that if you are handy with a soldering iron (which I am) that this will successfully work.

Mitel will reactivate options last time I spoke to them. But there are other out there from what I understand that can do it as well. Of course they will charge you I would suspect. Make sure you backup the system again so you have a current copy but I'm sure you have already done that. If need help ok to send PM. Will do what I can to assist.

mc601, I can get to the backup screen, but I'll be darned if I know where the RS-232 port is. The last time we had a backup done the phone vendor dialed in and downloaded it.
