the rs232 ports are the 2 on the left of the I/o panel ( assuming you have an Older type set-up) That is where You want to be plugged into for the backup of All Telephone backups, do You have ACD? Back it up too !

I didn't need to solder anything on. I just used leads with aligator clips on them. I used the new battery and clipped the + onto the reset jumper and the - onto the first component after that side of the battery. I did have my system backed up, but thought I'd save some hassle if I could.

Brian, Yes, we do have the old I/O panel. The DB25 connectors go to our printer on one and a Wyse terminal on the other. I'm not sure how the backups were done remotely in the first place. It sounds like it should be be done via one of the RS-232 ports. We do have ACD as well. Thanks for the heads up on that.

backups can be done on the built in modem remotely, That screen is there because You would get the same message if you logged into it using the Opts terminal, but the actual data output is done thru those RS232 ports,OR Thru the Modem connection (trans99) You could unplug the printer and plug in a laptop using Pro-comm Plus and do the backup ( and restore ( if Needed) ) thru it. You may have to change the protocol on the rs232 port the printer is on( just look in the ' B ' Screen under P ' for ports Note: port 1 is on the top left of the I/O panel.

1 more thing, If You have LCR, You can back that up too. Note, we used to use ".pgm", ".acd", ".lcr" as the extension name like " Abccompany.pgm " ( without the quotes for the system programming.

Brian, I've unplugged the Wyse terminal and have plugged in a laptop using Qmodem for the backup as I am unable to get my hands on Pro-comm Plus. The backup speed is set for 9600 as I have read in earlier posts that an ACPU card doesn't deal with the faster speeds very gracefully.
I do have LCR programming as well, but since Feb 2011 we have been forced to dial all 10 digits (like most of the res of the country) to deal with area code expansion, so we are bypassing it.

The ACPU version is 2.5.1 x33
My program backup size is 728,704 bytes. The same size as my last backup in 2009, but the strange thing is my backup of my ACD is much larger this time. the last time (2009) it was 464kb. This time it was 949kb. It makes me wonder who did it correctly? Me or my previous vendor?

Program size is always the same. What version of add do you have? There was a basic acid (BACD) advanced (AACD) custom acs and custom plus , perhaps, you had upgraded the acid since the last time you backed it up? ( dam auto spell checker , )
