We got the word a year or so ago that we will not expand a KTS system. I still install an occasional KTS phone on an existing systems.

I have orders to move the last four phones off a 200+ user system (JU'd (job unfinishsed) because I'm still waiting for the four-line analog phones.) I am removing the equipment, cabling, and backboards so nothing can be re-installed.

The driving force behind the changing out of the old six- and ten- button sets is Caller ID -- the client wants to see who is calling before they answer the 'phone.

One of the three 'phone closets in one of our central offices.
A: Lead sheathed cable
b: protector
c: redboard (equipment cabling)
d: KTS equipment
E: blueboard (floor cabling)

Picture was taken just under a year ago. It is all still there and clopping away.

That is a CLEAN job. Obviously, no one has been allowed near it that is unknowledgeable without DIRECT supervision. I'm the 1A2 guy at my co. and we still do a little work. Say what you want, but if I HAD to have a bullet-proof Phone system and bells and whistles weren't a factor, 1A2 is the only way to go. It just about takes a DIRECT strike on the KSU to take it down.
