the EVX is 12 port 200 hrs. The VX2 was 8 port 30 hrs. 3 goes to the 2014 box and gets a chance to rin ext before going to vm, unless the user has set fwd to another ext or whatever. I have reviewed all of the above many times and have not been able to determine why it works in night and not day. I double checked in the G screen and set up two vm to phones in the phone room to use as test units, and cannot get to my vm to leave a message. When I was on site I watched the C screen and the calls coming in ring to the ext that is dialed then go to the operator group. There is no operator terminal set up in this site, they have digital phones at both desks. the group for the operators is E(401). I am willing to provide any info that you need to help me correct this situation, just ask. Dave

Please check your communications screen on the EVX. In the Reports (second page) section you should see Browse (I),open the program, in the File Spec field type in !com1 -don't forget the explanation point! for the output field type in S (Screen). Your screen should seperate into two windows. Send some calls to ext that should fwd to VM and you should see the information on the screen. Please let us know what you see.

This doesn't make any sense at all to me but we set the trans recall timer for all extensions to 30 sec instead of 20sec and it is now working correctly. Will keep you posted. Dave

Makes sense if the transfer recall timer was set shorter than the forward timer in G screen... Mike

I agree, however this system has been in existence since 1987 and this had not been a problem before. I am trying to figure out why changing from a VX2 to an EVX would create this issue when it was not an issue before. Actually I think the forward timers in the G screen has always been set to 02 and the transfer recall timers were also set to 02. With the new card working through the backplane and the old one working through the rs232 it may just have taken longer for the info to travel through!??!  :bang:

Are the extension numbers of the VMS ports the lowest in the F screen?

I'm sorry, I am not sure I understand your question. Do you mean in value? They start at 3010 and go to 3021. I have a few extension numbers below them, but not many. 3001 is used as an overflow operator phone. Is that what you are asking?

When the transfer recall and the call forward timers are the same, there seems to be a logic problem with the IDS. I have seen this problem with pickup groups , night ring and several other applications. I would recommend to change the “G†screen MLT to be 1 second and then set all of the forwarding timers to 18 or 19 seconds. Then you can still use the transfer recall time to 20 seconds. Other wise change the VMS ports to a number higher than any existing station number. Good luck.

END, No the majority of the calls were going to the two main operators which are x3202 and x3203. Apparantly a long time ago the x3001 had someone at a desk and that position was elimanated, but the phone never was. I asked and they said just leave it there so if an emergency arises it can be manned as well. Thanks for the information.
