While we're all debating the death of VoIP in another thread, I'm rolling out some more, and I'm wondering if anyone has pointers to either a CNID/CNAM popup for incoming calls or a "Dial this number" wedge for Asterisk systems.
That is, I want to be able to catch an incoming call to the extension for which the running copy of the program is configured, and either pop up a notifier (like Snarl, maybe) or launch a browser popup (or, really, a generalized command with START) using the name and or number as a parameters...
and I want something where I can send a "take my set off-hook and dial" command either from the contacts in an Outlook addressbook, or from whatever is in the select buffer as a right-click menu item.
Pointers appreciated.
