Anybody else find this statement a little offensive? Seems like it would be a good thing to contact your customers more often than "rarely".

IMHO, I think that's being a little bit critical. It is a fact. Eric Suder does RARELY contact dealers directly. Instead, people who are responsible for making contact do it: salespeople, tech support, etc., and on occasion, Doug Boyd. I think he was just trying to place emphasis on what he felt was the importance of his email.
