Now I am stuck. I gone to G screen (Forwarding & VMS). I have assigned the mail box numbers (same as extension numbers), said to forward to VMS on Busy, and no answer for both icm and CO calls. I have set up the mail box on the mail system. I have to be missing something. I am working with only one phone right now. Mine. Don't want to hose up the others. I have the VMS key on my phone set to VMS 830?. When I press it I only get a busy signal. From my SYS CONFIG screen I see 6 extensions with the pad of VxC. I assume that these are the numbers assigned to the voice mail system. Not sure though. I figure there must be someplace that says when I hit VMS key to go to VMS. Can't seem to find that.
The bigger issue I need to get around is how to make the system automatically go to the VMS so people have the option to enter an extension or a name. Right now someone has to answer the phone and TR/CON it to the right person. Any Help is GREATLY appreciated. Steve.

The extension for the voicemail need to be in hunt group 36.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

shoover, JJ is right you need to set the voicemail extensions into a hunt group 36.That's on the A screen under the timers area.If you want lines to ring directly to the voicemail then on the B screen under lines set the lines to hunt group 36.

jj/pvj, I did as suggested. I have the hunt group set to 036 for the eight numbers that appear to be the voice mail numbers. When I press the VMS button on my phone I see the *intercom ring* message. If I let the phone ring long enough I can see it roll through the extensions in hunt group 036. but nothing ever picks up.
I have also set the B screen hunt group to 036. When we call in all of the phones still ring. and it never appears to "go anywhere". All of the phones are in Hunt Group 00.
I must be missing something somewhere.
On the infostar screen there is a PBX line setting that has an extension number in it. I tried to change that to be one of the voice mail numbers but it doesn't seem to make a difference. ?? Steve

Something that occured to me while I was scratching my head. There are multiple lines coming in. I set the HG to 36 on the B screen for Line 1. What I noticed in status screen is that Line 1 is not in service. Lines 10,11,12 are in service. I ran the line test to verify. Should I have set the Hunt Group on the B screen to 36 for all of the lines? I assuming so.

Yes you should set the lines you want answered to hunt 36 on the B screen. But if you press the voicemail key and don't get the voicemail to answer,I think you should get that working properly first. What is it a VXC card?

pvj: Yes it is a VXC card. The best I can tell it is a Infostar/VX2. Right now the Run Dialog screen shows:
[T ][AUTO1 0001] [T ][AUTO1 0001] [01][WAITING] [02][WAITING]
[T ] [AUTO1 0001] [T ] [AUTO1 0001] [03] [WAITING] [04] [WAITING]
I am unable to get to the sysadmin mailbox so I am not sure what the message is actually on the system.
I'm going to go back through the manual to see if I have missed something. Thanks for your help. Steve.

PVJ, I guess I needed to reboot/restart the system. Now when I press VMS I get the voice mail system. I can access the sys admin so I need to reset all of the pw's on the mail boxes. The system gives me the options to dail the extension, 0 for operator, # if subscriber. I am getting close . Steve

well, here is where I stand. I have the system rolling to VMS on an incoming call. I can't seem to get user's voice mail to pick up when a call is routed to them. The phone continues to ring. Also, some phones "bounce back" instead of ringing when routed to them. Steve.
